Visions in 3D
The way I work is similar to the work of a sculptor. With the soldering iron I carve structures out of the paper like the sculptor carves figures out of a block of stone. The network of lines that emerges is basically an object carved out of paper, and although very flat, it stillis a vivid object. That is why it appeals to me to create metal sculptures, using laser or water jet cutting plant. The following sketches give an impression of how some of my motifs can look as sculptures.
